Subscription terms

The short version: one person, one PC, updates and support included, cancel any time.

1. Your licence

Each subscription lets one person use Private Desk on one Windows PC at a time. You can move a licence to another PC from the app; up to three moves a year are included.

2. Free trial

New customers get a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription you chose starts and you are charged. Cancel any time from the app (Home > Manage subscription).

3. Price and payment

£25 per user per month or £250 per user per year, plus VAT where it applies, paid in advance through Stripe. We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price change.

4. What's included

Updates and support while your subscription is active. Support is by email and, if you start and approve a session, by remote screen sharing with Windows Quick Assist.

5. Your data and your responsibilities

Private Desk runs on your PC and we never receive your documents or client details (see Security and data and our privacy notice). Detection of client details is automatic and cannot be guaranteed to catch everything. You remain responsible for how you use AI with client information and for checking AI output before relying on it.

6. Not legal or regulatory advice

Private Desk is a technical tool. It is not approved or certified by the SRA, ICAEW, ICO or any other regulator.

7. Restrictions

Don't copy, resell or share the software or your licence key, or try to get around the licence checks.

8. Liability

We provide the software with reasonable care and skill. Nothing limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

9. Ending

You can cancel at any time; your licence ends at the end of the period you have paid for. We can end a subscription if these terms are broken.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
